Things Are Looking Better Already (Ruth 4)

The final chapter of Ruth serves as a reminder not to give up or resign our hope to "chapter 1" because God, in His grace, protects us from our past, redeems our present, and grafts us into a better future. Like Ruth, we shouldn't be where we are, but because of our Redeemer, we've been brought into a story of tragedy to triumph.

Ruth Meets Boaz (Ruth 2)

The multiple tragedies of Ruth chapter 1 were a crushing blow to Naomi, and she begins chapter 2 dejected, hopeless, and passive. Ruth takes the initiative and makes a second journey, this time out into the fields of Bethlehem, where she meets Boaz. In this second journey, Ruth leaves empty and comes home full, and the good news she brings home restores Noami to life.
